Edmonds, Washington pop-rock trio, Chasing Vegas, are not reinventing the wheel; Not that they plan to anyways. No, the guys rather play the music they love and, hopefully, they will win you over. So far it seems the Chasing Vegas’ formula has been working. With a growing national fan base, spots on Vans Warped Tour 2012, and the smoothest, catchiest tunes around, Chasing Vegas are making waves in the pop-rock scene. Just do not ask the guys to slow down any time soon. It is full steam ahead. Jump on their bandwagon or get the hell out of their way.

What’s your hometown (or what are your hometowns)?
We hail from Edmonds, Washington.
How did the band come together? How long has it been?
Our moms set up a play date. The rest is history.
Why should people listen to your band?
Peter- Cause Baby Jesus said so.
How have you grown since you started?
Justin- About two inches since we started… if you know what I mean.
Matt- Having just done a full US tour has caused us to mature tremendously as people trying to get into the scene and it has changed us a lot.
What sets you apart from other bands in the scene?
We are very responsive to our fans and always try to make sure they know they are important to us. We are trying to bring a new, polished sound to the streets of Seattle.
What’s the best part about being in your band?
Justin- Random freestyle acoustic songs by Matt (laugh).
Peter- The ability to travel the country and see everything we have seen in the last year.
Matt- Being able to express myself and meet new friends along the way!
More times than not, influences tend to bleed through. What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
Peter- I’ve been listening to a lot of Macklemore and Big Sean recently.
Matt- Mayday Parade, The Beatles, Sleeping with Sirens, The Almost, and virtually everything I hear in small portions.
Justin- I’ve been listening to a lot of The Used new album and Peirce the Veil.
What would you say the band has already accomplished and what do you have your eyes set on next?
We have already started to build a nationwide fan base and successfully survived a full US tour in a van! And right now we are working on building a solid local fan base.
Thus far, what’s a favorite memory or something quirky that’s taken place with the band (in-studio, onstage, or elsewhere)?
Justin- THIS ISN’T ME!!!! (Laughs) Maybe one day there will be a video explaining that (laughs).
Peter-When Justin threw a pie in Matt’s face and then Matt threw his balls in Justin’s face.
Matt- Peter’s dance parties to the Blood on the Dance Flood song, “Yo, Ho”!
